Go With the Flow Socks

Title: Go With the Flow Socks in Interweave Knits Summer 2005 Notes I adore these socks. I wear them constantly. They are the perfect marriage of pattern, yarn, and knitting context. I love how the subtle colour variation of the Regia complements the lacy pattern of the socks. I love that I got the yarn on sale. I love that I started these socks the week that I quit my job at Adobe, and had to learn to "go with the flow" of freelancing. I worked on them during our trip to BC, and I treasure the time I spent knitting by the woodstove in my friend's cabin. I was a bit unhappy with the fit at the top, until I tried on the first completed sock and realized I liked it better slouchy. I knit the second sock over Christmas holidays, surrounded by family. So these socks keep me warm and happy and carry good memories. The only pattern change I made was to knit the socks on 2 mm needles instead of 2.25 mm. Although the leg is a bit tight, the fit around my foot is great, and I think the yarn looks and wears better at the tighter gauge. Since I love these socks so much, I think they deserve another photo, and a close-up. Posted by Alison at 05:12 PM
